Kim York, mother, amateur actor, business woman
and author of "Do You Have a Dream of Being on Stage?"

Kim York, nee Merrison, was born in England and immigrated to Australia in 1969 with her parents and siblings. Kim first appeared on stage aged 3, as Little Bo-Peep, in a ballet eisteddfod and received a Highly Commended certificate for her efforts. From this point Kim was hooked on performing.

Following the family's arrival in Australia Kim recommenced her dance training and, through her parents involvement with theatre companies located in the northern suburbs of Adelaide, continued performing both with her ballet school and numerous theatre companies.

Following her marriage, and the birth of her 2 children, Kim continued with her passion for the stage and has been lucky enough to perform in several shows with her daughter and son to whom she is a dedicated and very proud mother.

Kim now attempts to juggle full time work as an Executive Assistant with her theatrical pursuits and normally plans on performing in two or three shows a year. She enjoys the mental challenge of performing in a play, and learning her lines which may total up to 400, as well as the physical challenges of singing and dancing in a musical.
